Job Title:  Ready 2 Read Volunteer Manager

Purpose: The position Ready 2 Read Volunteer Manager serves as direct support for the Ready 2 Read Program.  Through administrative and support tasks the Ready 2 Read Volunteer Manager will make sure all other outbound volunteers are stocked with Ready 2 Read Kits, brochures, books, and other essential items to fulfill outreach requirements.

Location: Administrative Office located at 77 Boone Hills Dr. St. Peters, MO 63376.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages materials and ordering for mobile libraries/learning stations located around the county
  • Ensures we can replenish books, toys, and brochures at assigned community partner locations
  • Order materials need to prepare Ready 2 Read Kits for delivery
  • Helps coordinate delivery of Ready 2 Read Kits to assigned community partners
  • Helps collect information/registration cards from assigned community partner locations
  • Helps enter information collected into eTapestry for further communications

Reports to: Extension Services Specialist

Length of Appointment: The Ready 2 Read Manager will serve for at least 6 months and can stay on as a long-term volunteer if requested.

Time Commitment: At least, one day per week (Ready 2 Read Volunteer Manager choice) for four hours.


  • Passion for early childhood literacy
  • Basic knowledge of working in office environment
  • Basic knowledge of computer and data entry
  • Pleasant manner, patience, problem-solving ability, dependability
  • Ability to mutli-task and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Vehicle to travel to partner locations

Support: Training/orientation for this position will be provided.  In addition, the Extension Services Specialist will be available for questions and assistance.

Age Requirement: 18 years or older
