The Last Treasure
by Janet S. Anderson

This book is all about family, about how you should forgive and forget past differences then come together as one united family. John Matthew Smith (the ancestor of Ellsworth and Jess) built a square of houses for his children to live in when they grew up. As his 13 children grew, 3 died of various causes. The houses that were meant to be theirs were turned into "treasure houses" by John Matthew. Within them treasures were hidden meant for the future Smith family. They were only to be opened up and the treasure found, when the smith family (his posterity) was in dire need of money. When Ellsworth & Jess Smith go to spend the summer on the square the first 2 houses have already been opened years before, but the third was still unopened. Finding the family torn apart by past difference and the square dry & falling apart, Jess & Ellsworth decide it is time to find the last & final treasure, a treasure that could bring the scattered, broken pieces of theier family back into a whole.
