The Journal of
Patrick Seamus Flaherty
by Ellen Emerson White

This book was maybe written for boys, but that doesn't matter. This book was "way cool!" It is the journal of an 18 year old boy who joined the Marines in the Vietnam War. It follows him thru his "adventures," hard and good times. It begins while he is still at home. However, he cusses, which for me takes glamour out. So, I would not recommend it to anyone. What made it so amazingly unique was how well he expresses his feelings. You could relate yourself to, "I've known that feeling before!" Three fourths of the book I enjoyed because he's just so REAL!! And he is so hilarious, and so cool! Still, for all that, I would only rate this book 3 out of 5. It could be a wonderful book if they take out cussing.
