The Host
by Stephenie Meyer

I enjoyed reading this book because Stephenie Meyer is a great author and is able to write story plots that are unique and entrancing. The story is about an alian that takes over a host body but the host body refuses to fade away. The alian called Wanderer comes to love the humans from her hosts body and chooses to help them even if it means sacrificing her own existence. This book was incredible and I felt like I could relate to how the characters were feeling.

In a time where invaders from other planets take over the human race, there are some who choose not to follow. When Melanie Stryder, one of the last "wild" human's body is provided as the "host" one of the aliens, she refuses to let the invader take over. Other aliens called the parasite inside her Wanderer. But when Melanie's thoughts and memories become too strong for Wanderer, they are thrust into an adventure neither of them could have expected. Now each one of them is torn between the two species, and don't know who to side with: the few humans left, or the parasites in charge of Earth.
