Farmer Boy
by Laura Ingalls Wilder

Farmer Boy is the story about a year in the life of Laura Ingalls Wilder's husband, Almanzo Wilder, when he was a boy. It talks about going to school, planting and weeding, harvesting, threshing, and cutting wood as being things Almanzo and his family did yearly. Also it tells about the fun things they Wilders did, like going to the county fair, or Fourth of July parade, having candy and ice cream, or just sitting around the fire popping popcorn and eating apples. I think I would advise my friends to read Farmer Boy, not only because it talks about the benefit of hard work, but because it is a beautiful story filled with funny happenings and touching incidents.
