The Doll in the Garden
by Mary Downing Hahn

The doll in the garden is very interesting. It talks about a girl whose dad passed away from cancer. Well, the dad is the only parent working in the family. So when he dies, the family can't afford the house they were living in so Ashley and her mom move into the country with the top floor of Mrs. Cooper's house. When the neighbor girl Kristin says each July she hears a girl crying and a cat walking around but doesn't cast a shadow.
While the girls see a garden and they find a doll that has a weird, sad past. I really enjoyed reading the book.
