Deenie
by Judy Blume

Deenie is a very good book. It is very easy to relate to the characters in the book. Deenie is a normal 7th grader. She lives in the city with her mom, dad, and sister, Hellen. Deenie's mom has very high hopes for her daughters. She says "Deenie's the beauty and Hellen's the brains." Deenie and her sister hate being categorized like that. When Deenie finds out she has scoliosis she doesn't know what will become of her future. She has planned on being a modle but her mother takes the news harder then her. I recommend this book to teenage girls going through the same issues as Deenie and her friends.
