Cabin on Trouble Creek is a great book for all sorts of readers. Its about two boys and there Dad who go to Ohio to claim land. The plan was to claim the land and there dad goes to get the rest of the family he tells the boys he is going to be back in 5 weeks 6 at the most but it ends up being longer and they have to survive the winter.
