Hitchhiker's Guide
to the Galaxy
by Douglas Adams

This story is about Arthur Dent whose house is about to be demolished to make way for a road bypass. His friend, Ford Prefect, then informs Arthur that Earth is about to be destroyed by the Vogons, an alien race building a galactic highway. The entire story is hilarious and Douglas Adams includes a lot of hidden humor that comments on today's society and questions the authority of the government.
