View from Wepprich's Wine Garden.
This postcard shows a view of some of the outdoor tables at Wepprich's Wine Garden looking out across the Missouri River and the Interstate 70 bridge. The wine garden, located at 1219 South Main Street, was established in the late 1800s.
Austrian-born Michael Wepprich acquired the property in the early 1900s, and after the repeal of prohibition in 1933, he again began producing wine from the grapes growing on the hillside facing the river. The Wepprich family owned and operated the winery for more than seventy years.
