    The U.S. Government Export Portal links to information regarding the following subjects: Export Basics, Market Research, Partners and Trade Leads, Pricing, Quotes, Negotiations, Shipping and Documentation, Export Finance, Trade Shows and Events, Counseling and Advocacy, and Help with Trade Problems. Only members may have full access to this site.

  • ITA (International Trade Administration)
    www.trade.gov

    Hosted by the department of commerce, this site includes trade data at the national and state levels, necessary forms to engage in international trade, country information, explanations of relevant taxes and tariffs, and current information on the role of trade in foreign policy and the economy.

  • International Travel Information
    www.travel.state.gov/travel/warnings.html

    The Department of State provides on this site travel warnings, public announcements, and consular information sheets through a searchable list of countries.

  • U.S. Customs and Border Protection
    www.cbp.gov

    The U.S. Customs and Border Protection site is divided into the following sections: newsroom, import, export, travel, career, and enforcement. From this site relevant articles and statistics may be found. Within each section a "quick links" toolbar can be found on the right side for easy access to frequently requested information.

This book gives summary information on 3,000 leading international companies. Location of the business, names of key executives, summary description paragraph, and some financial data are provided.

Principal International Businesses: The World Marketing Directory
BR 380.1025 Principal

50,000 international companies are included in this book. They are listed alphabetically, by Standard Industry Code (SIC), and geographically by country. Address, contact information, sales numbers, ownership, chief executive name, are all given in this monograph.

Databases

The library district subscribes to several online databases that may help you with your research. Those with a "Remote Access" button can be used from your home computer with a valid library card.

Go
to the library's Electronic Databases for Business & Public Management to find the databases purchased specifically to support business services.

For information regarding general management, you may want to try the Wall Street Journal or Reference USA.

To use the Wall Street Journal, you will want to use a keyword search for articles relevant to your topic.

Reference USA has an international component. Select either "Canadian Businesses" or "International Businesses" and you can find information like the address, phone number, and list of executives for companies all over the world.
