The St. Charles County City-County Library offers a variety of special services designed to assist in genealogical research. Although staff cannot provide in depth genealogical research, simple look ups for both local and distant customers are provided. More indepth research questions are forwarded to staff volunteers.
Interbranch loan: [reserves] although the Bizelli-Flemming collection is house at the Kathryn Linnemann Branch library, much of the collection does circulate and is available for check out. Reserves may be placed on any circulating item and will be delivered to any branch within the Library District.
Interlibrary loan: As a member of OCLC, the library district has the ability to requests millions of books, periodical articles and microfilm from libraries throughout the United States. This can be a powerful resource for the genealogical researcher. To access the holding of other OCLC member libraries, patrons may access worldcat. Requests for interlibrary loans can then be placed either through the library website or by visiting any branch. Interlibrary loan items are subject to the fees and restrictions imposed by the lending library.
