Established as special collection in 1979, the Bizelli-Fleming Local History Collection focuses on St. Charles, St. Louis and Missouri history, as well as the study of genealogy. In 1982, when the new Kathryn Linnemann Branch was opened, approximately 500 volumes pertaining specifically to theses topics were physically separated from the General Collection. In 1985 the Local History Collection was renamed the Bizelli-Fleming Local History Collection in honor of the contributions of two former library board members, Mr. Omar Bizelli and Dr. Robert Fleming.
The collection includes books, bound periodicals, microfilm, microfiche, periodicals, videos, and access to genealogical and historical information on the Internet. Books are classified by subject using the Dewey Decimal System. To discover what books are available in your area of interest, use the library's online catalog to access the collection by author, title, subject, or keyword.
