The following restrictions must apply to any such administrative actions:
-
The position should be professional or administrative in nature.
-
The applicant chosen for the position must be actively working in a comparable field.
-
Without board approval, the starting salary offered may be at a range not to exceed the closest step which is ten percent greater than the applicant's existing salary.
-
Upon Board approval, the starting salary may be at a range not to exceed the closest step which is twenty-five percent greater than the applicant’s existing salary. Normally this action shall be reserved for the hiring of the Director, Deputy Director or other senior management.
-
In-track hiring shall not lessen requirements for subsequent promotions to higher tracks.
With Board approval, an additional one-time payment not to exceed $5000 may be made for moving expenses. Normally this payment shall be reserved for the hiring of the Director, Deputy Director or other senior management.
