Jane K. Householder Scholarship Fund
On August 10th, 2000 the St. Charles City-County Library Foundation created a Jane K. Householder Scholarship Fund.
Jane touched lives- her family, her co-workers and the library patrons she served for over 30 years. To her, everyone was special and because of her attitude, we all felt special. Jane gave of herself in just the right way at just the right time. She might give a bit of advice, find just the right information, impart a hug, or just listen when listening seemed to be what was needed.
To Jane, every question was important. She was comfortable sitting on the floor with a patron looking for a crochet pattern as she was helping a child find the plans to make a washtub bass fiddle. A patron's sensitive issue was always dealt with in a very caring way.
Jane knew the collection at the O'fallon Branch, where she began her library career many years ago, probably better than anyone and she continued to add to that store of knowledge. Books were Jane's friends and those who came into contact with her benefited from that friendship.
