Status: Part Time, 20 hours per week – rotating weeks, Sunday availability preferred.
Schedule: Week 1: 5-9pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 8:30am-5pm on Thursday
Week 2: 5-9pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 9:30am-6pm on Saturday

Duties: Perform public service duties in the circulation area and assist customers in person or by phone. Check materials in or out, collect fines, prepare library cards, empty book drop, sort books and materials for shelving, and sort mail. Assist with branch opening and closing. When appropriate, assist reference staff with reference questions.

Requirements: Strong filing and clerical skills. Accuracy performing mathematical tasks. Excellent customer service attitude and good phone manners. Knowledge of the function and purpose of a public library and a proven interest in library services and programs. High school diploma or GED and one year of customer service experience required. Completion of two or four years of college preferred.
Physical Requirements: Standing for extended periods of time, bending, walking, or kneeling. Pushing or pulling book carts that weigh up to 75 pounds and moving boxes that weigh up to 35 pounds. Ability to read small print on materials. Ability to hear and speak with library customers.

Rate: $12.37 per hour                                                Salary Track: B
