Description: Books and other materials related to philosophy and psychology as set forth in the Dewey Decimal Classification system. These will include general and specific philosophy, parapsychology, occultism, dreams, psychology, ethics, and other related subjects. Influencing factors: Collections beyond basic and popular coverage in this area are the realm of college and university libraries. Occultism, popular psychology, parapsychology, dreams, the paranormal, and similar topics will be collected at a sufficient level to meet demand. Retention: Retrospective retention of basic reference and circulating materials is necessary, with attention given to maintaining currency as well. Usage and condition of materials will determine retention of popular materials. Current selection: Comprehensive subject coverage at a basic level for the general patron will be given primary consideration. Retrospective selection: This will include checking of current subject bibliographies as available. Attention shall also be given to replacement of missing or worn titles as necessary, depending on availability.
