Holidays
Full time employees shall receive ten paid holidays per year.
The generally observed holidays are:
- New Years Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Memorial Day
- Christmas Eve
- Independence Day
- Christmas Day
- Labor Day
- * Presidents Day
- * Martin Luther Kings Birthday
- * Veterans Day
* Presidents Day, Martin Luther Kings Birthday, and Veterans Day are considered floating holidays since the branches are open and operating on these days. Employees may take the holiday off or may use the floating holidays after the date of the holiday but must schedule the holiday off prior to December 31 of the calendar year. Time off for floating holidays will not carry over to the next calendar year.
Part time permanent employees who have reached their third anniversary date will receive pro-rated holiday hours to be used as partial compensation for those holidays when the branches are closed. Half of the holiday hours allotted are awarded January 1 and the other half on July 1. Holiday hours must be used during the calendar year; they cannot be carried over to the following year. The schedule of holiday hours, based on tenure, can be found in the Policy Manual.
Holidays designated for Christmas and New Years Day may vary according to the day of the week on which the holiday falls. Refer to the Policy Manual for details.
Request for use of holiday hours should be given to the immediate supervisor for approval.
There will be no remuneration for holiday hours upon termination of employment.
