Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library is a non-profit organization that enables the St. Charles City-County Library District to offer the best library service possible to everyone in St. Charles County. Individuals, families, local businesses, and corporations are all encouraged to join and make a difference.

Some members support the Friends simply by paying their annual dues, while others become more involved by donating their time. Every dollar raised by the Friends is funneled directly back into all the libraries serving St. Charles County citizens.

Friends members receive a 10% discount on the purchase of merchandise from the Books 'n More Gift Shop or any library branch, and free admission to the annual Friends of the Library Book Fair on opening day.

All memberships (excluding Life) are renewable annually. All memberships are tax deductible.

BOOKS 'N MORE GIFT SHOP

The Books 'n More Friends Gift Shop is unique! Customers will find a variety of items for sale including used books, holiday items, greeting cards, puzzles, games and much more. The Gift Shop also features a selection of TY Inc.© products including Beanie Babies ®, Attic Treasures™, Plush and other items. Shipments of TY Inc.© products are received randomly. Customers should call the Gift Shop prior to coming to check the availability of TY Inc.© products. Proceeds from sales are donated to the Library District. The Gift Shop is staffed by volunteers. If you would like to volunteer to work at the Books 'n More Gift Shop call the Library District Administrative Office at 441-2300 ext. 1596.

The annual Friends Book Fair held each year in June has grown to be one of the largest book fairs in the St. Louis area. Over 250,000 items are available. All items are sorted into popular categories such as mystery, cookbooks, sets, children's crafts, fiction, etc.

Volunteers Needed
More than 200 volunteers are needed to work the annual June Book Fair. Volunteer jobs include stocking tables, tallying sales, cashiering, providing information and loading and unloading trucks. To volunteer for the Book Fair or for more information call the Library District Administrative Office at (636) 441-2300.

Proceeds from the Book Fairs benefit libraries throughout St. Charles County.

WANTED...YOUR OLD BOOKS

Donations of used books are taken August 1 - May 15 for the annual Friends of the Library Book Fair. All types of books are welcome.

Books may be dropped off at any branch or the Administrative Office of the Library District. All proceeds from the Book Fair are donated to the Library District.
