Job Classifications

Descriptions and salary track placement


The Library District groups budgeted positions into a salary schedule made up of 32 grades  Within each grade are 13 steps (A-M) reflecting entry level to maximum level of the salary grade. Positions are placed in certain salary grades based on the complexity of the duties, experience, education, and skills required to perform the job and the impact the position has on the organization.

The Board of Trustees shall approve the addition or removal of a position to the compensation plan.  Board approval is also required for moving a position to a different salary grade.  The Director may approve revisions to existing job descriptions when the salary grade remains the same. 

Job descriptions are reviewed periodically to ensure the primary responsibilities, physical demands, and required skills, experience and education are accurate. The Board of Trustees will be informed of updates to existing job descriptions in the Director’s monthly report.  Job descriptions will be listed on the Library’s website.
