Location: Corporate Parkway Branch, 1200 Corporate Parkway, Wentzville, MO 63385
Hours: 2 hours per week
Schedule: One day per week – list preference on application
Monday 10:30am-12:30pm OR Tuesday 1:30-3:30pm OR Wednesday 1:30-3:30pm

Key Responsibilities may include:

General duties

  • Look for unshelved items in the library and put them on carts to be sorted.
  • Retrieving items from library shelves
  • Keep library art and materials clean, includes light dusting.
  • Help ensure front entrance is neat and clean.
  • Clean DVD’s.
  • Assist the Librarian with program preparation for the library programs.
  • Sort donated items.
  • Straighten materials on bookshelves and check for accuracy.
  • Assist with shelving new books and materials on hold.
  • Other special projects as needed and based on individual skill set.

Computer duties

  • Assist Librarian or Circulation Supervisor with light computer work – data entry.
  • Assist patrons with computer questions.
  • Clean computer areas including screens and keyboards.

Reports to: Branch Manager / Volunteer Coordinator

Qualifications: Volunteers are selected based on their qualifications in relation to the needs of the library. Potential volunteer candidate must successfully pass a background check (at volunteer’s expense – approximate fee is $12.00). Volunteers should be able to follow direction and perform assignments independently. Accuracy with numerical and alphabetical filing is preferred. Majority of our assignments require the ability to move independently and lift library materials.

Dress Code: Business Casual
