Posting - Political Signs

Posting of campaign or political signs on buildings or grounds rented or owned by the St. Charles City-County Library District (including easements) shall be allowed twenty-four hours before the election and limited to those properties which are polling places. All such signage must be removed within twenty-four hours following the election.

Libraries may keep files or displays dealing with candidates or issues. Such files and displays shall contain uniform response forms dealing with biographical material on the candidates, statements by the candidates dealing with issues and political philosophy, and may contain responses to specific questions. The library may elect to collect campaign literature, along with newspaper clippings on certain candidates or issues but the library will not distribute such materials. This restriction shall not apply to informational materials dealing with proposals prepared by tax supported institutions.
